愛丁堡未來新開專業(yè)!可以“撿漏”嗎？想必很多同學(xué)都知道愛丁堡的未來學(xué)院，但是對它卻不是很熟悉。經(jīng)常會有人說未來學(xué)院是“撿漏好去處”、是雙非學(xué)生的“救星”。那么未來學(xué)院究竟是怎樣的呢?

很多目標(biāo)申請愛丁堡的同學(xué)都應(yīng)該有了解過愛丁堡大學(xué)的未來學(xué)院(Edinburgh Futures Institute)。該學(xué)院的標(biāo)簽有很多，“撿漏的神”，“雙非救星”等。今年未來學(xué)院又開始了三個新專業(yè)，我們一起來看下吧!是不是適合你的專業(yè)!?

新開專業(yè)：

MSc Child Protection Data Futures/兒童保護(hù)數(shù)據(jù)未來碩士

MSc Cultural Heritage Futures/文化遺產(chǎn)未來碩士

MSc Infrastructure,Susteainability&Climate Change/未來基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施、可持續(xù)性和氣候變化碩士

錄取要求：不要求專業(yè)背景，均分2等1，院校：Band C list內(nèi)

語言要求：

雅思總分7分，單項(xiàng)不低于6.5分

托福總分100分，單項(xiàng)不低于23分

未來學(xué)院的項(xiàng)目基本都是跨學(xué)科項(xiàng)目，本次新開的三個項(xiàng)目也不例外，并且從官網(wǎng)的課程介紹中，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)此次三個項(xiàng)目都比較重視數(shù)據(jù)分析。對于這類項(xiàng)目感興趣的同學(xué)可以碼住本篇文章。

一、MSc Child Protection Data Futures 兒童保護(hù)數(shù)據(jù)未來碩士

項(xiàng)目簡介：

Building data skills and connecting disciplines across the complex child protection system to ensure safer futures for all children.

This programme will equip graduates with the specialist skills to make an impact, with a value-driven, socially responsible contribution to tackling child maltreatment and youth violence globally.

二、MSc Cultural Heritage Futures 文化遺產(chǎn)未來碩士

項(xiàng)目簡介：

This MSc is designed to shape the future of the heritage sector by equipping graduates to become creative heritage professionals committed to data-informed innovation with social purpose. The programme is taught with a sensitivity that attends to decolonisation and a truly international outlook.

“Our degree draws from world-leading expertise in cultural heritage futures and offers students the possibility to connect with the Heritage Minds Lab. The Lab investigates new, data-rich approaches to heritage research and practice and explores how encounters with the past shape contemporary values, decision-making and future-thinking in an increasingly digital world.”

三、MSc Infrastructure,Susteainability&Climate Change 未來基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施、可持續(xù)性和氣候變化碩士

Over the next 30 years over $100 trillion will be invested globally in infrastructure as the pace of change and impacts from climate change accelerate across the planet. Planning and forecasting for resilience and adaptation is paramount for many countries.

“This programme is built around interdisciplinary thinking, developing creative and critical approaches to building and adapting future infrastructure, recognising the data skills needed to address complex social challenges, and the application of knowledge to live projects.”

以上三個碩士項(xiàng)目的申請截止時間如下：

Round 1：2023年11月16日;

Round 2：2024年1月18日;

Round 3：2024年4月4日;

Round 4：2024年7月11日。

2021年剛剛成立的時候，開設(shè)的碩士項(xiàng)目都被人詬病，大部分專業(yè)里都要帶個future。都讓人覺得這個學(xué)院就是來薅中國學(xué)生的羊毛的。但是其實(shí)從設(shè)立至今，未來學(xué)生的專業(yè)并不是那么好申請到的。

首先：因?yàn)榇蠹蚁热霝橹鞯目贪逵∠螅蠹以谏暾堖@些專業(yè)的時候，目的都是撿漏，在選擇上來說，本身就靠后的。申請時機(jī)以及大家的材料準(zhǔn)備其實(shí)不充分的占了絕大多數(shù)。沒能成功撿漏的概率就高了。

其次：因?yàn)殇浫∪藬?shù)并不多。能申請到的其實(shí)也不多。

在英國留學(xué)申請上，很多同學(xué)在申請規(guī)劃之前，就開始想著“撿漏”。其實(shí)真的不建議大家這么做。像我們的顧問老師一般都會先和同學(xué)們溝通未來的職業(yè)規(guī)劃再為大家規(guī)劃申請專業(yè)。因?yàn)閷τ诖蟛糠滞瑢W(xué)來說，出國留學(xué)還是為了回國就業(yè)的。不要盲目的選專業(yè)，不要盲目的迷信“撿漏”，理清楚自己想要的未來，合理規(guī)劃才是正道~
