英國的獎學(xué)金大致分為三類:英國政府獎學(xué)金、英國院校獎學(xué)金和其他類型獎學(xué)金(助學(xué)金)，這里每類獎學(xué)金我們都舉例說明一下：
第一大類政府獎學(xué)金
英國志奮領(lǐng)獎學(xué)金B(yǎng)ritish Chevening Scholarships
英國外交和聯(lián)邦事務(wù)部(FCO) 及其合作伙伴或贊助商聯(lián)合出資，有兩種類型的獎學(xué)金：第一種是Chevening Fellowships ，Chevening Fellowships是提供給已經(jīng)在職業(yè)生涯中達到了影響位置專業(yè)人士，并希望通過量身定制的短期課程，在英國高校，以增加他們的知識，社交和潛力；第二種是普通大學(xué)生可以申請的Chevening Scholarships:
該獎學(xué)金金融包括以下費用和開銷：
? university tuition fees (please note that there is a fee cap applied to MBA programmes which requires applicants to cover any additional cost over ￡18,000)
? a monthly stipend
? travel costs to and from the UK
? an arrival allowance

? Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country.
? Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended
? Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a post-graduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK
? Have at least two years’ work experience
? Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 14 July 2016
? Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 14 July 2016

蘇格蘭“蘭十字獎學(xué)金”（Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships，SSS）
是一個由蘇格蘭政府和蘇格蘭高等教育機構(gòu)聯(lián)合提供資金支持的大型獎學(xué)金計劃。該計劃提供近200個名額，每單獎學(xué)金價值2000英鎊。獎學(xué)金主要用來支付在蘇格蘭任何一家高等教育機構(gòu)攻讀本科、碩士和博士學(xué)位學(xué)生一年的學(xué)費。
獎學(xué)金的設(shè)立旨在突出蘇格蘭是一個學(xué)習(xí)型和科技型的地區(qū)，因此該計劃針對的重點領(lǐng)域包括創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)業(yè)、生命科學(xué)、科技、金融服務(wù)以及可再生和清潔能源。

以下是具體的申請要求：
? Have a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at a Scottish university on an eligible course before an application can be considered.
? Be a citizen of Canada, India, USA or the People's Republic of China (Hong Kong also being eligible as it is a Special Administrative Region of China).
? Be able to demonstrate that they can meet the costs of living in Scotland and the remaining tuition fees.
? Complete an application form and submit it to their selected institution by the closing date of 31 March 2015.
? Not have previously studied for a full undergraduate degree in Scotland.
? Not have previously received a Saltire Scholarship.
Eligible courses:
? The course must be an undergraduate, Masters or PhD level course in one of the following broad subject areas: Science, technology, creative industries, financial services, renewable and clean energy.
? Courses must be full time and delivered in Scotland. Online, distance learning or courses delivered at a Scottish university campus overseas are not eligible for the scholarship.

這里介紹一下以下三種英國大學(xué)的獎學(xué)金
第一種稱之為subject-specific scholarships，也就是針對某些科目開設(shè)的獎學(xué)金項目，大家可以通過網(wǎng)站查詢學(xué)生所學(xué)轉(zhuǎn)專業(yè)在哪些大學(xué)有提供獎學(xué)金，
第二種是sports scholarships to support talented student athletes.有體育強項的學(xué)生有資格申請該類獎學(xué)金，
第三種就是專門針對中國學(xué)生設(shè)立的獎學(xué)金。
在學(xué)校international 網(wǎng)頁China Scholarships available to international students are also listed on country pages found on the International Students website.
至于何時申請獎學(xué)金，我們可以了解到絕大部分獎學(xué)金是在拿到offer后才可以申請；部分院校在填寫課程申請表時即可選填是否申請獎學(xué)金，這種情況，我們建議學(xué)生在申請課程時即填寫相關(guān)內(nèi)容，因為英國獎學(xué)金申請和課程申請一樣，遵循早到早得的原則，在這之前按照該文章前面的內(nèi)容了解好各項獎學(xué)金的特點。
填寫申請表，需要填寫類似PS的內(nèi)容，比如為什么你覺得你有資格申請這個獎學(xué)金，有的甚至需要提交專業(yè)相關(guān)的論文。
另外部分院校提供family discount，即之前有家庭成員在該大學(xué)完成學(xué)業(yè)的話，可以獲得一定折扣。
第三類其他類別的就是一些中國機構(gòu)開設(shè)的給赴英留學(xué)的學(xué)生設(shè)立的獎學(xué)金項目，比如中國國家留學(xué)基金管理委員會等等。
