人類的發(fā)展經(jīng)歷了漫長的一段歷程，歷史學(xué)家就是這段歷程的忠實(shí)記錄者，很多人對于歷史研究的印象還停留在枯燥古板的研究上，其實(shí)不然，現(xiàn)代歷史研究早已經(jīng)買入了一個(gè)更加科學(xué)的時(shí)代。對歷史的研究能讓人明辨得失，甚至可以推動(dòng)時(shí)代的進(jìn)步，真正的歷史學(xué)家往往像明鏡，真實(shí)地照射出歷史，也堅(jiān)定地照亮未來。
近年來，英國留學(xué)的熱門程度在不斷飆升，中國有很多學(xué)生會(huì)選擇赴英留學(xué)，但是，他們很多人更愿意選擇比較火爆的商科專業(yè)或者工科專業(yè)。文科類專業(yè)除了英語專業(yè)，很少有學(xué)生會(huì)選擇出國留學(xué)，其實(shí)歷史學(xué)是英國大學(xué)的傳統(tǒng)王牌專業(yè)，相比較其他更為實(shí)用的商科等專業(yè)而言，歷史學(xué)專業(yè)表面看起來顯得那么不實(shí)用，但是恰恰因?yàn)檫@種曲高和寡，使得歷史學(xué)在英國有些不食人間煙火，而社會(huì)對于那些選擇學(xué)習(xí)歷史專業(yè)的學(xué)生和教授，也多少會(huì)高看一些，認(rèn)為是真正的學(xué)者。
英國的歷史學(xué)專業(yè)下設(shè)很多分支學(xué)科，分的非常詳細(xì)，就業(yè)方面，畢業(yè)于大歷史專業(yè)的學(xué)生，既可以選擇進(jìn)入高校擔(dān)任研究與教學(xué)職位，也可以去中學(xué)教授歷史，同樣可以進(jìn)入博物館、藝術(shù)館甚至藝術(shù)品市場從事商業(yè)類工作，所以這個(gè)學(xué)科的就業(yè)前景并非大家所想象的那樣無處可依，相反冷門專業(yè)的就業(yè)率反而遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)高于那些大熱專業(yè)。
下面介紹幾所英國的歷史專業(yè)名校及特色專業(yè)。
劍橋大學(xué)
這個(gè)學(xué)校的名氣，教育質(zhì)量，科研水平（尤其是歷史專業(yè)），地理位置的優(yōu)越，另人神往的程度等等用再多的語言描述都不為過，所以也就不再多說了。
因?yàn)樵撔５恼n程多因其科研水平著稱，所以歷史系的研究生課程也基本都是MRes或者Mphil之類的研究式課程，如：MPhil in Economic and Social History，MPhil in Historical Studies，MPhil in Medieval History，MPhil in Political Thought and Intellectual History，MPhil in Early Modern History，MPhil in Modern European History，MLitt in History等。
目前該校的網(wǎng)上申請收費(fèi)是25磅，郵寄申請暫不收費(fèi)。因?yàn)樯暾埲硕喔偁幖ち遥绻暾堖@個(gè)學(xué)校，需要盡快郵寄申請材料了。
圣安德魯斯大學(xué)
全英綜合排名第6的大學(xué)。很多人認(rèn)為這個(gè)學(xué)校是因?yàn)橥踝佑H駕而名氣大增的，其實(shí)這個(gè)學(xué)校歷來就是英國人心中除了Oxbridge之外最神圣的學(xué)校之一, 建于1413年。St Andrews University位于蘇格蘭東部的海邊袖珍城市St Andrew。根據(jù)英國教育權(quán)威機(jī)構(gòu)RAE和QAA的評定，不論是在傳統(tǒng)的文學(xué)，歷史學(xué)，社會(huì)學(xué)，數(shù)學(xué)，物理學(xué)，經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)還是在新興的計(jì)算機(jī)，商科，心理學(xué)等領(lǐng)域，該校在科研和教學(xué)領(lǐng)域都分別達(dá)到5分和24分的滿分，個(gè)別甚至科研水平達(dá)到5星級水平。因其古老的傳統(tǒng)，文學(xué)，歷史和社會(huì)學(xué)尤為著名。

約克大學(xué)
英國綜合排名前10的大學(xué)。在英國歷史專業(yè)排名前10的大學(xué)中，York 大學(xué)的歷史專業(yè)碩士課程是授課式課程最多最全面的，尤其是中世紀(jì)歷史方面的課程。如果想只拿到碩士學(xué)位就工作而不是想繼續(xù)做研究的話，最好選擇這個(gè)學(xué)校。
授課式的碩士課程有MA/MPhil History Research, MA Historical Research, MA History and Politics-Popular Movements, MA Local History, MA Medieval History, MA Medieval Studies, MA Modern History, MA Railway studies, MA Representations and Contexts(1750-1850) 等；

倫敦大學(xué)學(xué)院
是英國倫敦大學(xué)下屬的20多所學(xué)院中最為著名的學(xué)院之一, 位于倫敦市中心。英國綜合排名前10，也是很多國際學(xué)生向往的學(xué)校。
MA in Ancient History, MA in Medieval Studies, MA in Modern History, MA in European History, MA in Dutch Golden Age etc. 都是非常不錯(cuò)的專業(yè)。
布里斯托大學(xué)
英國綜合排名10位上下，歷史專業(yè)排名前10的大學(xué)。位于威爾士，是風(fēng)景優(yōu)美的海濱城市。Bristol是一所實(shí)力很強(qiáng)的綜合性大學(xué)，在文學(xué)，傳媒，經(jīng)管，IT等教學(xué)和科研領(lǐng)域都享有盛譽(yù)。

格拉斯哥大學(xué)
